Baptisms can be arranged by contacting Fr Niall They take place on Sundays either after morning Mass at English Martyrs Danbury or before evening Mass at Holy Trinity South Woodham Ferrers, as a personalised family celebration.

First Holy Communion

Sessions are run each year in the Parish, usually on a Monday between 6 and 7:30pm in St. Josephs School Hall. There are twelve sessions from October to May.

There are also monthly Parent sessions where the parents meet each other informally to discuss what the children are covering.

A party is held at the end of the sessions to celebrate this time together.

Confirmation takes place annually. The Bishop visits the Parish every three years and celebrates the Sacrament of Confirmation during his visit.

In the years when the Bishop is not visiting Fr Niall confers the Sacrament on Pentecost Sunday.

Young people aged 14 and above are invited to register their interest by writing to Fr Niall stating why they would like to be confirmed.

Please see Fr Niall to arrange your wedding service. The marriage service can take place at either church although English Martyrs Danbury is more popular.

Preparations include time with the Parish Priest and sessions run by Marriage Care including the FOCCUS course.

Please speak to Fr Niall in the first instance.

Anointing of the Sick Anointing of the Sick

Please contact Fr Niall if you know anyone who is ill and who wishes to be anointed.

Normally in the Parish we celebrate a special Mass for the Sick, details of which will be found in the newsletter. We also have Rosary for the sick on Fridays at Holy Trinity 8.55am.

Eucharist and Hospital Visiting

Because of the Data Protection Act, hospitals are no longer allowed to inform the Priest when a Catholic is admitted into hospital.

If you know of anyone in hospital who would like a visit and or Holy Communion please inform Fr Niall in the first instance.

There is the opportunity to celebrate this Sacrament on Saturdays 10:00 - 11:00am at English Martyrs and after 5.30pm mass on Sundays at Holy Trinity. Fr Niall is usually available on request or by appointment.
